Copy/Line Edit – Covers pacing, voice, sentence structure, style
- Spelling, punctuation, and grammar—includes comma usage
- Word choice
- Getting the most effect from your power words
- Choosing strong verbs that don’t need modifiers
- Tightening sentences
- Strong openings and endings
- Timeline
- Fact checking
- Includes two passes from me. If you’re looking for two one-pass edits with the ability to make changes in between, it’s doable, so let’s please have a conversation about that before we begin.
Copy/Line Edit (Rough Draft)
$0.007 — $0.01 per word, determined by sample edit. For scheduling purposes, please allow one day per 10,000 words in the project.
Copy/Line Edit (Already Edited)
$1.50 per page.
Proofread — $1.30 per page
Spelling, grammar, and punctuation check only.
Sample Edit — $50
- 5000-word sample edit to get a feel for whether the author and editor are a good fit.
- Please send First Chapter along with a sampling from about 2/3 of the way through the book, a total of something around 5000 words. I’ll send you back your edits and the price for a complete edit once the sample edit is complete.
- Required for debut authors; suggested for an initial project with established authors.
- Price of sample edit will be deducted from total cost of edit if booked within six months.
I don’t require a down payment. Invoice for completed project will be delivered along with the finished edits and due within 7 days.
